Pendant des ann\u00e9es, il a souffert de divers sympt\u00f4mes \u2013 spasmes musculaires, douleurs articulaires, perte de m\u00e9moire, confusion, apn\u00e9e du sommeil et probl\u00e8mes cardiaques \u2013 qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9s \u00e0 des diagnostics erron\u00e9s&nbsp;: fibromyalgie, d\u00e9pression, Alzheimer. Aucun m\u00e9decin ne faisait le lien entre ses sympt\u00f4mes jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019un m\u00e9decin, en 2016 et apr\u00e8s plus de 12 ans d\u2019errance, suspecte la maladie de Lyme et confirme le diagnostic par des tests. D\u2019apr\u00e8s l\u2019acteur, l\u2019infection remonterait \u00e0 2002 lors d\u2019un tournage dans&nbsp;le Vermont, alors qu\u2019il rampait dans la for\u00eat pour les besoins du film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u00f4t\u00e9 traitement, il a suivi plusieurs protocoles, notamment \u00e0 base d\u2019antibiotiques, qui lui ont permis une nette am\u00e9lioration, notamment au plan neurologique et cognitif, et une baisse significative de ses sympt\u00f4mes physiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais trait\u00e9 tardivement, il n\u2019a jamais pu retrouver tous ses moyens et restait handicap\u00e9 par des probl\u00e8mes de m\u00e9moire \u00e0 court terme et d\u2019\u00e9quilibre. Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, sa sant\u00e9 s\u2019\u00e9tait d\u00e9grad\u00e9e progressivement, et ses sympt\u00f4mes de type Alzheimer s\u2019\u00e9taient accentu\u00e9s, sans que ses m\u00e9decins ne puissent \u00e9tablir de lien avec la maladie de Lyme, ou avec le vieillissement.
